For more than 10 years the Socotra Training Centre has provided Yemeni people in Socotra with an education in English and Computer Studies. 

Following our 2008 funding towards the updating of the computer room, providing new computers and ancillary equipment, a total of 120 students received training in English at five different levels whilst a further 18 students benefited from participation in computer classes.

With the rapid growth of the tourist industry on the island archipelago the demand for places at the school continues to outstrip supply.  Along with finding employment as tourist guides, in the hotel industry and within government departments, a number of students have already gone on to higher education at Universities in mainland Yemen and Saudi Arabia.  We hope our continued support will help to help give more people similar opportunities.
